Israel Withdraws Most Troops From Gaza, Declares Unilateral Cease-Fire

Israel announced a unilateral cease-fire from 10:00 Am Monday morning till 5 PM to allow for the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians, in a move which was immediately rejected by the Hamas terror militia which rules the Gaza Strip. The cease-fire, which comes after most of the Israeli ground troops formally operating in the Strip were withdrawn over the weekend, does not apply to the southern Gaza town of Rafah. The move comes amidst announcements by the government that the IDF has already destroyed most of the attack tunnels running under the border into Israeli communities and Operation Protective Edge has accomplished most of its objectives.
