White House spokesman Josh Earnest had harsh criticism for Israel Thursday evening, telling a press conference that the Obama Administration holds the IDF responsible for the the shelling of a UN facility in Gaza this week, adding that it was “totally unacceptable and totally indefensible,” and demanding that Israel to “do more” to avoid civilian casualties. In the same briefing, he demanded that Hamas cease firing rockets at Israeli civilians. Across the Potamac River in the Pentagon, spokesman Colonel Steve Warren also criticized Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip, declaring that “The civilian casualties in Gaza have been too high.
