Rockets continued to be fired into central Israel from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip and a withering barrage of mortars continued to fall in border communities on Tuesday morning, opening day 50 of the current conflict. A house in Ashkelon suffered a direct hit causing several injuries and the Iron Dome air defense system intercepted several rockets as the Air Force hit dozens of terror targets in the Strip. Another rocket was also fired into Israel from Lebanon late Monday, causing no injuries or damage.
