speaking during a visit to an IDF Military Intelligence base on Wednesday, said the Islamist terror militia Hamas is very aware that Israel won’t tolerate a “drizzle” of rockets and mortars into its territory, and because of this Hamas had promptly arrested a rogue terror cell responsible for firing a mortar shell into Israel earlier in the week. Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar also made a speech on Wednesday in which he declared that the Palestinian Authority, with which Hamas is still operating in an ostensible unity government for the Palestinian people, is not authorized to negotiate with Israel about the establishment of a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines. “Abbas does not speak on our behalf and we never accepted his [political] plan,” Zahar told the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Akhbarnewspaper.
