New Mexico is ‘greening up’ from all the rain we have been receiving the last couple of months. I traveled to Reserve yesterday to preach at the Baptist Church and I was so blessed to see so much greening of the area..Greening of the Desert! It has been bone dry. I have never seen the area so green! My friend, Head Deacon Charles McCargish told me that the average precipitation in the Reserve area is 17 inches for  a year….this month alone, the area has received 7 inches of rain! PRAISE GOD! The ranchers so much needed this rain for their cattle, the pastures. The area is so beautiful, I know more than ever why the people of Catron County New Mexico love their home so much! I took this picture yesterday outside of Reserve, NM.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. Psalm 23:2

We must always take precautions when heavy rains come, being careful of flash floods: Some areas of New Mexico are having flooding problems, we must pray for the safety of all…..and for the family of the man who drowned…….

Reserve landscape Authorities are urging residents of nearly 100 homes in Carlsbad to evacuate early today because of flooding.

The problem stems from the Pecos River that runs through Carlsbad.

Carlsbad and Loving schools will be closed today.

The New Mexico National Guard on Saturday rescued 40 oilfield workers stranded by floodwaters, and a Texas man was found dead near Loving after his vehicle got stuck in water.
