A Western diplomat told journalists on Monday that Israel has provided intelligence to the US on the Islamic State (IS, formally ISIS) terror militia and that this intelligence has been passed on to other governments fighting IS, including Arab governments and Turkey. Israeli officials would neither confirm or deny the reports. In related news, Leila Zerrougui, senior UN envoy on children and armed conflict, told the Security Council on Monday that “Up to 700 children have been killed or maimed in Iraq (by IS) since the beginning of the year, including in summary executions.
