We must be in prayer over this, persecution of Jewish people is on the rise in the world. Ukraine’s Jewish population is reeling this week from an upsurge in violence in the country, with a report surfacing this week that a Jewish man was murdered by pro-Russian insurgents in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk on Friday. However, community leaders were quick to point out that the shooting happened in the context of the war going on in eastern Ukraine and that they were unaware of violence being specifically directed against Jews. Since the war with Russia began earlier this year, there has been a large increase in the number of Ukrainian Jews emigrating to Israel.
