Nero couldn’t have done better…
The Founding Fathers wrote what we call a preamble to introduce the Constitution’s fundamental purposes and guiding principles. Every school kid during my childhood had to memorize it. It says: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” Just in case we would grow up to be president or to just be a good citizen, our teachers thought we should know it. Seeing today’s overreaching and ineffective government, I now know why.
When you look at the nation today and what has happened to it in the past eight years (yes, the last two years of the previous presidency included), it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that we have not drifted, but have raced, far from our guiding principles. Our Justice Department and court system is Biblical–in the Isaiah 59:14 sense: “And justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” You know what I mean. There are more people not working than are–not because they don’t want to work, but because there are no jobs for them and they have given up.
Our “president” has scuttled the common defense of our nation by aligning with terrorists such as the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda, and even the Islamic State–how else does one explain that US weapons and bullets are being used to kill the innocent? Our porous borders are allowing terrorists, disease carrying children, militant gang members, and criminals to cross into the US at will and do their dirty-work. The “president” refuses to do anything about it. And how is that promotion of the general welfare working out? The “president” and his minions vowed to control Ebola and they have made a mess of everything. So much for socialist healthcare and its benefit to society.
Using the deaths of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown to promote racial divide rather than promote domestic tranquility, soft persecution of Christians, promotion of an anti-marriage agenda, and the list goes on and on. If one had set out to destroy this country, imperil its citizens, Nero could not have done a better job than has the occupant of the Oval Office, the Congress, and the Supreme Court. These are truly Proverb 30:12 days where “There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” We are about to experience such woe if we do not stand to change.
