With all the news and media reports of ebola outbreak, issues within the government, ISIS, and so much more, I hear fellow believers whether at church, Bible study, on Facebook, or other social media talking in fear about what may happen. Some of it is rationale and we need to take action and be prepared.
However, while taking action, we can pray for protection. One of the best Scriptures to use to pray for protection is from Psalm 91. Often when I teach or speak, I hand out the following prayer based on Psalm 91. I have placed blanks in this passage for you insert your name and the names of your loved ones that you are praying for. Print this out and pray it as often as prompted or when fearful thoughts come to mind.
Let’s pray for protection over ourselves and our loved ones!
A PRAYER OF PROTECTION FOR ______________ FROM PSALM 91: Father, I praise You that ______________ dwells in the secret place of the Most High and that ______________ shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no foe can withstand]. I do say YOU, LORD,”The Lord is ______________’s Refuge and his Fortress, his GOD; and on HIM he leans and does rely, and in HIM he confidently trusts”. For then YOU will deliver him from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.Then YOU will cover ______________ with YOUR pinions [feathers], and under your wings shall he trust and find refuge. Your truth and Your faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. ______________ shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday. YOU will be with ______________ in trouble. You will deliver ______________ and honor him. With long life will YOU satisfy him and show ______________ YOUR salvation.
