War Rages on Israel’s Northern and Southern Borders

Fighting between the Islamic State (IS, formally ISIS) terror militia and its enemies continued to rage in and around the Kurdish border town of Kobani over the weekend, with defenders hanging on and even managing to bring in some reinforcements and supplies across the Turkish border. Hundreds have been killed on all sides in the fighting, including the first US casualties suffered in Iraq over the weekend. Meanwhile, fierce fighting related to the civil wars in neighboring Syria and Iraq broke out in Israel’s northern neighbor of Lebanon over the weekend, with forces of the national army battling Islamist gunmen in several northern cities, including Tripoli. Meanwhile, Egypt’s security establishment on Sunday was accusing Palestinian armed factions from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip of participating in a terror attack last Friday which killed 33 Egyptian soldiers in the restive Sinai Peninsula.Read More
