Hawaii_surf_fwsGenesis 21:33 Then Abraham……..called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.

I love the ocean. It reminds me of the Father……so gentle, yet so powerful. When I see  the waves, I imagine His love washing over me, through me and from me, never stopping….without end.

The Father has gotten a bad rap for eons. A lot of people picture Him as this mean God with lightning bolts in His hands ready to take them out if they mess up. I’m here to tell you that if that was true, there would be no one standing!

The Holy Father I know is kind and gentle, loving and available, firm, yet fair and very generous. He is so generous that He gave His one and only Son to die for us to be raised again so that if we choose to believe on Him we will be one in Him! It was the only way He could restore our relationship.

The word “everlasting” means: lasting forever, never ending or stopping, eternity. ( Thorndike Barnhart Comprehensive Desk Dictionary, 1950)

The Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance Of the Bible( Thomas Nelson, 1990) breaks it down in 5769 and 5956 as: beginning of the world and without end; veil, conceal, secret.

It is a profound mystery to think on the Father’s great love for us and how He planned for us to be His before He created creation.

Roman 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. ( See my posts: One With Him, In Adam or in Jesus, Dying to Live and SOZO.)

Why? Because He loves us with an everlasting love and He wants an intimate relationship with us.

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

Romans 8:31-39 expounds upon His everlasting love and reminds us that nothing can ever separate us from His love……even if we walk away from Him, He still loves us and wants to hang out with us and talk with us. Always and forever.

He promises:

Company—

Hebrews 13:5b For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Strength—

Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD is everlasting strength.

Salvation—

Isaiah 45:17a But Israel shall be saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation….

Light—

Isaiah60:19 and 20 The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the LORD will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.

Deliverance—

Colossians 1:13 and 14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (transported, carried, transferred) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Everlasting love…..forever and always.

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. (KJV)

Today, the Father wants you to know that He loves you. He is not mad at you. No matter what you have done, He is waiting for you to turn to Him. He longs for your company and He delights in you and thinks on you.

His love is everlasting…lasting forever, never ending or stopping….eternal. He’s waiting eagerly for you to hang out with Him and talk with Him. Let Him love you.

Won’t you call on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God today? He’s missing you.
