Dear family and friends of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Greetings! This is Kelly Snelgrove bringing you the CUP today. I am an inspirational writer at For God’s Glory Alone Ministries. By God’s kindness and grace you will find me daily at the website fggam.org. I am so grateful for today and this opportunity to share with you a message on Thanksgiving as a Way of Life!
I have noticed several friends on Facebook posting what they are grateful for as Thanksgiving Day approaches here in the United States. This is wonderful and encouraging to see as we can never say “Thank You” enough to God or to our family, friends and leaders.
To make gratitude and praise a daily and essential part of our lives requires focusing on our blessings and expressing our gratitude to God for them. No matter how difficult our life’s journey, as followers of Christ we can always count our blessings– past, present, and future. To increase thankfulness, we can take an inventory of all we have (including family, friends, memories, abilities) and celebrate God’s goodness to us in our prayers of gratitude. By doing so our attitude towards life becomes more positive, gracious, humble and loving.
We can be thankful God answers prayers.
I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! Isaiah 65:24
So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. John 11:41
We can be thankful for God’s provision for our needs.
Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:4-5
We can be thankful for God’s blessings.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
We can be thankful for God’s character and wondrous works.
I will give to the Lord the thanks due to His rightness and justice, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7:17
Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]! 2 Corinthians 9:15
And they said, “We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was,
for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign. Revelation 11:17
We can be thankful for acts of generosity.
This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 2 Corinthians 9:12
We can be thankful for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I thank my God at all times for you because of the grace (the favor and spiritual blessing) of God which was bestowed on you in Christ Jesus, 1 Corinthians 1:4
I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. Ephesians 1:16
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, Philippians 1:3-5
Lord, behold our family here assembled. We thank Thee for this place in which we dwell; for the love that unites us; for the peace accorded us this day; for the hope which we expect the morrow; for the health, the work, the food, and the bright skies that make our lives delightful; for our friends in all parts of the earth. Amen! -Robert Louis Stevenson
“Gratitude is the inward feeling of kindness received. Thankfulness is the natural impulse to express that feeling. Thanksgiving is the following of that impulse.” –Henry Van Dyke
When we are thankful, we can worship with our whole heart. Gratitude in our hearts opens us to God’s peace. Thankfulness enables us to put on love.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:13
Blessings of peace and love,

Let us keep praying for each other and our families and neighbors!
And all of God’s people said, AMEN!
We have this prayer need into FGGAM, Rick Griffin, a dear friend and supporter of this ministry texted us last night that his Dad, Thomas in Bossier City, La had passed away. Rick asks for our prayers for the family. Let us pray for peace and strength for the family! I know from my conversations with Rick that his Dad was a great man! Now he is home with our Lord, but we will miss him! What a man he raised in Rick! PTL!
