New FBI numbers show the city of Gallup had the highest violent crime rate in New Mexico last year….
An analysis of 2013 FBI statistics show’s Gallup had a violent crime rate of 2,086 per 100,000 residents. That’s more than two times the rate of Albuquerque.
Gallup saw a total of 463 violent crimes in 2013 – an 11 percent increase from the year before.
The FBI classifies violent crime as murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.
Warrant issued for man in killings of SF man, girl
Santa Fe County authorities say a 20-year-old man is sought in the killings of a couple found fatally shot in a car last month….
The SF Sheriff’s Office says an arrest warrant accuses Ricardo “Ricky” Martinez of two counts of murder in the shooting deaths of 18-year-old Venancio Cisneros and 13-year-old Anamarie Ojeda.
Martinez is described as 5-foot-7 and having brown eyes, brown hair and numerous tattoos on his right arm and neck.
The Sheriff’s Office says Martinez is considered “armed and dangerous”.
