Today we take time to recognize a strong man of God, Pastor Jim Montoya of the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Pastor Jim is celebrating his 29th Birthday! Happy Birthday Jim! I first met Pastor Jim several years ago when he stormed into my office at KKIM radio, in a good way, he wanted to introduce himself. The man is just plum full of Godly energy. Jim guided me into the holy process of becoming a Pastor. I served as his associate Pastor for a couple of years. I grew much under Jim’s wing. He taught me many things, but these stick out: Open Doors, God opens door’s and do not be afraid to walk through them, the Great Commission, we are to carry it out in our lifetime, and that God is working on things that we cannot even imagine. All important lessons Pastor Jim has taught me. I have really been thankful for the lesson on God at work…..going into full time ministry and leaving a paying job is a new set of fleshly stresses, so I think of what Jim taught me about God working on things I cannot even imagine, like guiding FGGAM and our needs.
The other night at the Son Broadcasting Banquet a lady came up to me and said, “We sure do miss you and Pastor Jim on KKIM.” That was very kind, I get that a lot, as Pastor Jim and I were on radio a lot together and I have Jim to thank for getting our TV program started. I don’t get to see Jim much anymore as we both are focused on what God has us doing, but I pray for him daily and try to carry out what he taught me. I am a much better man of God, having met Pastor Jim and Margaret.
Love you Jim and Margaret, Dewey, Sharon and family, thank you for all you have taught us!
Happy Birthday!
Let me share GOOD FRUIT SCRIPTURE with you, that is so evident in the life of Jim and Margaret:
James 3:17
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
Colossians 1:10
So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
James 3:13-18
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
Galatians 5:22-26
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
