Let the Spirit inside you inspire you, By Karen Rowe
Good day to you I am filling in for Dewey today here at the Daily CUP! If all images to not show for you please go to FGGAM.ORG www.fggam.org May the grace and peace of our Lord and Savior be with you! I truly hope this letter to you finds you well! Yet, I understand that it is human nature to have off days. I prayed, Father, who am I writing to? Perhaps, You?
Let us begin with prayer!
Dear Father in Heaven, I praise you and thank you that you always hear our prayers! Direct my words and soften the ears of those that read to your Voice; that you may be heard and understood. In Your Son’s Name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
I’ll be honest with you, I had a difficult day; and in the end, instead of feeling satisfied –instead, I felt discontent. One word of Wisdom is that our words directly affect our walk with Jesus. When we feel good, praise is easy, but when we feel strung too tight, human nature will want to be satisfied and speak it out.
Jesus died for us. Jesus didn’t die for us to be satisfied; Jesus died for us so that we can overcome all things that lead us away from our relationship with God. We can grieve the Holy Spirit with selfish ambition –and discontentment in the spiritual nature. Yet, ultimately this is the blind spot of our walk with God! Jesus has brought Peace and Joy to us and Praise and honor to His Name is for our benefit! Praise and thanksgiving is the energy that keeps the light of Jesus shining through our spirit and soul!
Do you know the difference between the human nature and spiritual nature? The flesh and the spirit war against each other by design! This is God’s way of directing our path and keeping us straight. In this continual spiritual battle, we go through a process of being made holy and just when we think that we are on a smooth road, God says it is time to grow again! In our maturity in Christ, it is inevitable that we will experience that feeling of dissatisfaction at some point or another.
Perhaps somebody did you wrong? Perhaps you are just spread too thin? Whatever your potential misery, there is hope to overcome –all Because of Jesus!
The process is like exercise! You may not be excited every day to grow in the Lord; and you may not feel like praying, praising or thanking God. Sometime or another, you may just like to take a break and speak a harsh word … or just do as you please. I’m talking about those things that the Spirit living in you lets you know that it is displeasing in God’s heart, but still human nature wants to act out anyway –all because of how we can feel in a given difficult moment.
So it is Christmas time! Instead of letting your human nature control you, let the Spirit living inside you inspire you! The next time you feel discontent or irritated, let the LIGHT of JESUS radiate from within you –like a warm living fire changes the entire atmosphere in a dark, dull room! Allow the Holy Spirit to soften the room of your heart where Jesus lives and is living with the heart of God beating and breathing within you!
The choices we face really are as simple as deciding to change our focus of our mind! No different than choosing to light a fire. And, if we don’t light the fire (however that fire may be) then nothing changes; the same is with our mind and our attitude in our everyday human nature!
Have you ever been amazed that it took you so long to realize what a candle can do? I am amazed in this way at the power of prayer and what God will do, when I just show up and ask him to help me do what He calls me to do!
Bottom line –anything done in faith pleases God and it is impossible to please God without faith!
So our spiritual growth is dependent on where our faith has grown to Today. What I am saying is this: What the Lord is working on with me as far as my sinful human nature; may be different than what the Lord is working on with you. I believe it is related to our ministry and we are being prepared at all times for the next steps God is going to ask us to take!
How about you? Jesus loves you –and you probably know the story of His birth, life, death and resurrection! Yet, How about you? Are you ready to live the life that Jesus was born to demonstrate?
Are you ready to love like God? Are you ready to be set free and live by grace through faith in Jesus?
Love is this: Patient and Kind. Will you study God’s Word Today and learn more and more about this amazing love of God? 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and remember that Faith works best when we remember that God knows more!
1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
I hope this is a blessing to you! I wish you a very merry Christmas as you celebrate the true meaning of Christmas –the birth of Christ, who was born to die so that we may live!
Love and Prayers in Christ,
Karen Rowe
