Are Protests Ministry?

When I started ProtestABQ (www.protestabq.com) last January, a friend asked me, “Father, how do you define pro-life ministry because many people look at what you do at ProtestABQ and they do not see a ministerial aspect to your work. How can protests be ministerial? I find this question to be a fair one and my answer is quite simple. Any work we do for the praise, honor, and glory of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is ministerial especially when it is directed toward ending the killing of the least of His Brethren, our innocent little brothers and sisters in the womb.
Father StephenI am so blessed to have been invited to post articles “For God’s Glory Alone Ministry.”  I have been active in pro-life ministry for approximately 2 decades and as with any spiritual journey, it has been one of gradual growth and wisdom. I myself have 2 babies in heaven from an abortion I was guilty of many years ago (a story for another time) and I find myself everyday asking myself what every person in a walk of faith should be asking themselves, “What more can I do today to unite myself to the cross of Our Savior, Jesus Christ?” Translated for those in pro-life ministry, “What more can I do today to save babies’ lives, keep women from being wounded, help wounded women, and end the scourge of pre-born baby killing in our culture?”

I look forward to writing on a variety of topics, but I assure you, we will keep coming back to the two reflective questions I have just posed. I believe they are the essence of the Christian walk as well as the heart of doing effective ministry especially ministry to the unborn and our moms.

May Jesus bless you and all you do.
