The Albuquerque Journal reports in today’s edition that hackers claiming to be acting on behalf of the Islamic State broke into the Journal’s Twitter account yesterday. “INFIDELS, NEW YEAR WILL MAKE YOU SUFFER, ” the hackers posted. The group had control of the Journal’s Twitter account for 2 hours. The FBI has been notified. This is the third attack on computer systems controlled by the Journal in the past two weeks. The hackers posted pictures and other information that the they claimed came from Albuquerque area computers. “Citizens of Albuquerque, we’re watching you, here’s a part of confidential data from your computers.” Driver ‘s license pictures were also posted by the group. The Journal reports that none of the information came from the Journal or Albuquerque Publishing Co. computers and no internal business databases were compromised. The same group appears to have hacked into the account of TV station WBOC in Salisbury, Md.
