Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ and faithful Daily Cup readers,
Good Friday to you. Thank you for joining us here on the “Cup.” I’m Shonda Savage an inspirational writer at FGGAM.org and I’m filling in for Dewey today.
We thank God for what HE is doing and working through this ministry and we thank you, our faithful readers and supporters of the ministry for taking part of what God is doing here at FGGAM.
Last week, my friend, Dr. Michelle Bengtson and I attended a Be in Health Overcomers Conference by Dr. Henry Wright in Dallas, Texas. I tell you that it felt like the Lord opened up the fire hydrant and we received so much more information about God’s word than we can literally process.

I was so thankful that Dr. Wright emphasized to us not to worry about not remembering everything. He assured us that the Holy Spirit will remind us of what we need to know when we need to know it. Praise God!
Also, Dr. Wright informed us that the teaching we were receiving was meaty.
“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV
Sometimes during the conference, I felt so full of the “strong meat” that we were being fed, I was uncertain I could take any more. But thank God, He helped me digest what I needed. And the good news is, if we overeat on God’s word, there is never indigestion!
This conference helped me realize that not everyone is ready for the “strong meat,” but are still drinking the milk. However, babies grow and want some real food.
Have you graduated from milk to solid food yet spiritually speaking?
If we don’t give our bodies the nutrition it needs, we become malnourished weakening our bodies. It’s the same for our spiritual beings as well. If we don’t feed ourselves some solid food, then we are weak.
How can we eat meat or solid food? Here’s a couple of ways I can think of. . .
Regular church attendance is a good start. It is good to hear the word of God, for faith comes by hearing. But in order to grow more, we need to participate in small group studies. I encourage you to find a small group study within your church or community. In small group studies, that is where we can read the Scriptures and discuss it with one another. The discussion helps solidify the Word in our hearts and minds.
Also, reading the Bible at home. Finding a time to read the Bible alone without any disturbances helps us to mediate on what the Lord is saying. He wants to speak to each of us individually, and He speaks to us through His written word. Also, reading with our spouses and our children and discussing it with one another.
Attending small group Bible studies and reading the Bible in our homes are two ways that we can begin to eat the solid food of God’s word.
Come on, aren’t you hungry for the meat of God’s word? How do you eat more spiritual solid foods?
