Tel Aviv Stabbing Attack Wounds Several Commuters

Scene of the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv Wednesday morning (Illustrative)Passengers on Bus 40 in Tel Aviv were targeted Wednesday morning in a terrorist attack which left nine passengers wounded. The stabbing attack was carried out by a 23 year old Palestinian man identified by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) as Hamza Muhammad Hasan Matrouk from the West Bank city of Tulkarm, who was in Israel illegally. He was chased by a team from the Israel prisons service which happened to be in the area and apprehended after being shot in the leg. “The Israel Police will continue to work at a heightened preparedness level in order to protect the security of the nation’s civilians,” said National Police Commissioner Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino. Meanwhile, the Islamist terror militia Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, praised the attack, describing it as “a brave and heroic act” and calling on Palestinians to carry out more such attacks.
