Many thoughts are going through my mind on the anniversary of my marriage to Sharon. When I met Sharon and did not have two pennies to rub together. I was penniless. It pains me to write you and tell you this but there is a strong message in it, plus now you know that Sharon did not marry me for my money! LOL! 
I was at a low point in my life and had been praying for a wife.
Then I met Sharon a nurse from Los Alamos, New Mexico.
She helped nurse me back to health, just not my body, but my soul.
She spoke the love of Jesus into my life. She gave me great hope.
Then I met Pastor Barry Dickens of the Methodist Church in Los Alamos.
My faith grew so much knowing Sharon and Pastor Barry. Sharon and Barry knew I wanted to be a Pastor some day and helped me very much.
Barry and I would talk often and meet often as he groomed me to be a better man of God and a Pastor.
Barry is my age, 58, and I am sad to tell you he has Alzheimers. he can no longer Pastor.
Sharon introduced me to her Church family, her Pastor and his wife Susan, who Sharon worked with at the Los Alamos Hospital.
I look at where God has me today, I am very blessed with my relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ, my wife, our adult children our doggys, our friends, many, many friends all over the world!
Sharon has helped me in so many ways with the love that she shows, the grace she puts forth, the caring for people not only as a nurse but strangers that are brought into our lives, she shows them the love of Jesus. She has extreme patients, yes, I will say I do test the patients of not only my Dear wife, but many others! LOL!
The other day she was on the phone with our Dear friend Tom Lester, who played ‘Eb’ in Green Acres and traveled with Billy Graham and has spoken in over a thousand churches, and when she was done talking to Tom she handed the phone back to me and Tom said, “WOW! what a blessing you have in Sharon, what a caring, loving person she is, a women of God!”
Sharon has blossomed into a terrific inspirational speaker for our Lord! Amen!
She did what many cannot do, have their husband walk away from a high praying radio management job into full-time ministry. Our lives changed forever since we moved into full-time ministry, our life style had to change, Sharon has and still sells personal belongings so we can make ends meet. What a testimony for all of us. She still works full-time as an RN and helps me behind the scenes at FGGAM everyday.
I tell everybody I know that our marriage is stronger since God put us in FGGAM, we have moved closer to God and each other since the formation of the ministry! Amen!
Our trust in God and each other is still growing, it is a beautiful thing! Amen!
Sharon introduced me to Pastor Barry Dickens, all part of God’s plan so that I could get Barry’s help and that of others to be launched as a Pastor and then into FGGAM!
Pastor Barry put Sharon and I through 6 solid weeks of pre-marital counseling . I strongly encourage that for everybody planning to be married, in fact, I require it before I will marry a couple. What Barry taught me during those sessions not only has helped our marriage to this day, but it has made me a better Preacher.
I have many other stories on how Sharon has impacted my life for the Kingdom of God…..this has just been one.
When I look at my wife, I see the love and greatness of our Lord Jesus Christ, she gives and gives, and gives.
When people look at you, do they see Jesus?
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
God joined a man and women together so that together they would mirror His image.
He called this union marriage.
Their oneness reflects the character and unity of God. Matt 19: 4-6, John 17: 22-23
Their oneness is a living picture of this intimate relationship between Jesus Christ and His followers Eph 5:22-33
Oh, how I love my Lord, my Sharon, our children, doggys, and all our friends! Amen!
My prayer for you today is that this Preached to you, Preached God Almighty, Preached the sanctity of marriage, Preached the love of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen!
Congratulations, marriage is such a sacrite union between man and woman . I believe I knew your folks. Walley was your dad? I am originally from Windom Mn or rather Bingham Lake. I and my husband have been here in SD for 15 years. My oldest son would almost be your age. 58 in June. We live in Rosholt SD. North East corner of the state. Again congratulations. Ours will be 59 years in June. Bless you both wishing you both many more years.
