Women Killed by Avalanche in Colorado

Frank Haley of KDAZ AM730 reports: SILVERTON– Another avalanche in Colorado has claimed the life of a Four Corners woman, 23-year-old Olivia Buchanan. She’s the second person to be killed in an avalanche this week.

Buchanan was an intern at the Silverton Avalanche School in 2011 and had been attending school for snow science in Bozeman, Montana.

Colorado usually has a weak snow pack that is prone to avalanches, and for that reason, Colorado also often leads the country in avalanche deaths.
