I have a need that I am hoping that you will post. One of our employees, Joe Ray, has a brother and girlfriend that just gave birth to a full term 3 lb baby girl that is addicted to heroin. His mother has quit work and will bring the baby home when she is ready. She has already raised her family and now will be caring for this precious little girl (her name is Cherish). She is starting from scratch and needs help. They need diapers, blankets, formula, pretty much everything. Any donations can be dropped off at Screen Images, Inc. 3738 Arno NE Albuquerque, NM 87107. Anyone can contact me at sandy@screenimagesnm.com and I will forward everything to Joe Ray. Thanks!
It is a COMMUNITY VICTORY FOR GOD on how people are coming together for Baby Cherish! Please help if you can, help is still needed.
A Thank you note from Dr. Michelle…….VICTORY FOR GOD’S GLORY ALONE! IT’S ALL ABOUT GOD AND HIS KINGDOM! AMEN!

We have a new friend! Sharon and I eat at the Cracker Barrel on I-40 from time to time and have made friends with Richard Shields, who is one of the managers at that location. He is so nice to us! His Dad happens to be a Pastor! I asked Richard to put me in contact with his Dad who lives in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Rev. Shields is going to post for us from time to time. Here is his first post:
HELLO! From Reverend Joseph Shields
Since this is my first submission, let me introduce myself. First, a bit of trivia: I am a pre-baby boomer, by just 288 days. I was born in 1945 and the first baby boomer was born January 1, 1946.
I am a 1976 graduate of Atlanta Christian College with a BA and a BTh, both in Christian Ministries and both with honors, cum laude. I also am a 1981graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with an MDiv in Biblical Studies, at what would be a magna cum laude level – except that the seminary does not award honors. Despite my majors, I took more theology classes than I did anything else.
I am blessed with three sons, one daughter, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren galore. My wife and I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
I have worked since April of 2010 as the Chaplain at an ICE detention center ministering to the religious and spiritual needs of men from as many as eighty-plus countries on almost any given day. Without leaving my home state, I became the foreign missionary that so many missionary presentations in my childhood called upon me to be.
Immigrants are where I wish to focus your thinking today. An immigrant is someone who has moved from their native land into a land that is not their own by birth. They are also known as aliens and strangers. Their habits are strange to the natives. Their language is strange to the natives, Even their food may be strange to the aliens. Their mannerisms, their customs, their cultural practices, their style of dress, even their hair style or methods of group affiliation may be strange to the natives.
Have you ever seen an African with tribal scars that mark their tribal affiliation? Have you ever seen a gang member with a gang tattoo that declares his loyalty to a particular gang? It is hard to make scars disappear, almost as hard as it is to make tattoos disappear.
Many native Americans (my wife among them) believe that immigrant aliens should just go back where they came from. They don’t belong here. They broke the law by coming here and should be sent back at once.
Suffice it to say that my wife and I do not agree on this. But this space is not for discussing immigration policy and practice. I will not undertake to instruct the President, the Congress or the Immigration Court. Instead, I am here as the ambassador of Heaven.
How would it feel to be an alien? To be the citizen of another land other than the one where you are living?
That might not be so hard to imagine as you might think. If you are a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ, you are an alien, living in a strange land that is not your own. Your life may be in this world, but your citizenship is in Heaven. Your customs and your language should reflect your citizenship in that land, not this one.
Lest you misunderstand, I am a citizen of the United States of America, and I thank God for that privilege. But I have a dual citizenship. I am also a citizen of that land where the Lord God is king and the law of love is the law of the land. I am a pilgrim and a stranger here. But I am both a citizen of a higher land and an ambassador with an unusual authority. As an ambassador of Heaven I have the authority to offer you that same citizenship. I hope that my life makes you want to know more about that citizenship. But, dear reader, I am not alone. Every Christian has that same ambassadorship and that same authority. Want to know more? Ask the nearest Christian!
God Bless you Rev. Shields!
The Lord showed me this morning to share this post again……to show COMMUNITY and VICTORY!
Today I bring you such a moving post by Rachel Wilson from my hometown of Windom, Minnesota. Rachel is the daughter of Dale and Kim Friesen of Windom and is a 2012 graduate of Mt. Lake, Minnesota Christian School. She is now a senior at Bethel University.
This was an Op-Ed piece for The Citizen newspaper in Windom. I thank my Dear freind Dave Fjeld of the Citizen for hooking me up with Rachel.
8/20/14 Believe In Your Small Town is the title………and I will say: Take Ownership of Your Community!
Here is what Rachel has to share with us………
My favorite time of every year is late May when the warmer weather starts to show its face, flowers begin to bloom, and the anticipation for summer is nearly palpable.
Raised in Windom, I now attend a private college in the Twin Cities where I am studying journalism, rhetorical communication, and graphic design. Spending nine months out of the year in the Twin Cities, I attempt to take full advantage of what the metro has to offer, attending concerts, frequenting museums and farmers markets, and scouring vintage and thrift stores regularly.
It goes without saying that the Twin Cities has much to offer young, middle-aged, and older people alike. Internship, job, and entertainment possibilities at my fingertips, and still, I find myself craving my small-town roots.
Because of this, I’ve spent all of my college summers thus far at my parent’s home in Windom. In fact, I denied all work-related and internship opportunities in the Twin Cities this past summer to return to work and live in Windom. Though some coined it crazy, I knew a few months at home is exactly what I needed.
You see, I love Windom. I love talking about Windom. I love dreaming about Windom. I enjoy small town life. I enjoy seeing cars on the town-square and windows lit up with lights and smiling faces. I believe in small business. I believe in community pride. I adore my friends here in Windom—a group of creative, progressive, intelligent folk who embrace rural life. I adore the quaintness and closeness small-town life allows. And though society may contend that small towns are dying out, I think it’s the perfect time to grow our roots deeper, spread our wings farther, and cultivate a community that defies all the odds.
I write this as an encouragement to the community of Windom to cling to their small-town roots while allowing space for growth. Allow space for people to be creative. Allow space for people and things to entertain ideas and evolve. Allow space for people to dream aloud. Allow space for people to be vulnerable. Allow space for people to see the beauty of small-town life. Most importantly, allow space for people to realize that there is such a thing as a legitimate rural existence, and it is a beautiful thing.
Not all rural lives look the same. We need farmers, teachers, bankers, machinists, small-business owners, artists and so many more. But we all play a role in contributing our little, but significant piece to the community of Windom. I challenge you to continue to take pride in your small town. I challenge you to take ownership of this community and cling to the small-town roots that make Windom unique, while reaching beyond. I challenge you to dream alongside your neighbor and be the positive change in this community.
Surely, it was important that I go away (I’d recommend to almost anyone), but it may be even more important that I return someday. And I’m not alone. Countless young folk like me have an aching desire to return to small town America, but these communities cannot remain stagnant and expect to persist as a legitimate option for a younger population. I’m proud to call Windom home, and I care deeply about Windom’s success. It is a collective, community effort. Believe in your small-town and believe you alone are the difference.
Thank you so much Rachel! What a blessing, it’s just how I feel about my hometown and the ministry of FGGAM, my neighborhood and city and state. It also is a message for the Church. I love going to Reserve, New Mexico to preach, the people stick together, they believe in God, their Church, the body of Christ and the entire community of Reserve and Catron County. They are a shining light! Let’s take this message by Rachel and carry it with us into our neighborhoods, place of work, towns and cities and into our Churches! And all of God’s people said, AMEN! Let us all take the responsibility!
I see the cross! “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 Our motto here at FGGAM is: For God’s Glory Alone Ministries bringing the light of Jesus Christ to the world one person at a time.
Now to FAILURE in a community and state, When God is not at the Head. People wonder why Albuquerque Schools are such a mess…New Mexico must take a look into the mirror. It keeps doing the same stupid things again and again. What did Forrest Gump say? “Stupid is as stupid does”
YES I KNOW I AM NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT AND I THANK MY LORD FOR THAT! WE MUST BE SALT AND LIGHT! WE ARE HURTING OUR CHILDREN!
THE DROP OUT RATE AT APS IS HORRIBLE…..
Either people just don’t care anymore or Albuquerque has just given up on the problem plagued School District.I have lived here since 1995 and the District has always been a mess, nothing changes, just constant dysfunction and changing Supt’s. APS is sick with problems and it has extended into the voting booth with only 7,615 people showing up to vote in yesterdays election, which is a measly 2.6% of eligible voters. I think people have had it with the District, especially after the Winston Brooks scandal handing this awful, so called leader hundreds of thousands of taxpayers dollars to leave and the Board not telling us the truth as to what took place. Peggy Muller-Aragon defeated Kathy Korte, who was just an awful example for our youth on how to behave yourself, and Barbara Peterson and Analee Maestas where also elected. Between the Brooks and Korte drama and the other drama Kings and Queens at APS people have had enough, in my estimation. APS is a taxpayers money pit. If you have ever seen that movie called, The Money Pit with Tom Hanks, you know what I mean. People have had enough of this monkey business called APS. Our God is not a God of confusion. This sort of stuff happens when God is not at the head. The Administration and School Board, The State and Federal Government need to repent, what a mess you all have made of our education system. Bringing God back into the classroom is the only true answer. Let me also say that I have known many teachers over the years at APS, they end having their hands tied behind their back and not allowed to TEACH and DISCIPLINE. Start the school day out by worship and praising God and reading the Bible and let God lead. Then recite the wonderful Pledge of Allegiance You would see a complete turn around in America! Amen! If God is not in our schools, government, businesses, families, Churches, yes there are churches who do not have God in them, they are all doomed for failure. As my friend Sandy Harrington says, “If God isn’t in it, it’s doomed for failure.” So when you look around New Mexico and the rest of the Country, no wonder we are failing as a Country. More here:
Albuquerque Public Schools Incompetence, When are the people going to say enough is enough? Los Alamos is a Role Model for us all!
We are here to bring you the news you need to know, God must be at the head of everything! Amen! Dewey, Sharon, Family and FGGAM team
