Hezbollah Leader Declares Intent to Militarize Golan Heights Border

Nassrallah (Illustrative)Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Lebanese Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah, gave a televised speech on Friday evening in which he declared, among other things, that his forces were prepared to carry out deadly strikes against Israeli troops and civilians on the Golan Heights. He added that Hezbollah is steadily building up its strength on the Syrian side of the border with the Heights and lauded what he described as the “fusion of Lebanese-Iranian blood on Syrian territory.” However, despite his firebrand rhetoric and last week’s missile attack against an IDF convoy, the northern border remained quiet over the weekend. However, there was a  sharp flair up in violence in the area to Israel’s south, as Egyptian bombers and gunships attacked Islamist camps and other targets throughout the Sinai Peninsula in retaliation for last week’s terror attacks which killed 27 police officers and soldiers.
