India and Israel to Jointly Develop Defense Systems

Israel’s growing relationship with India took another step forward this week when it was announced that a consortium of Israeli and Indian hi-tech, aerospace and defense firms have signed a partnership to develop a new air defense system to replace aging Russian equipment. The project is reportedly one of the results of a meeting earlier this month between Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and his Indian counterpart, Manohar Parrikar.
