Netanyahu (Illustrative)Israel’s political landscape became a little clearer on Thursday when Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein announced that although he is ordering a criminal investigation into various reports of misconduct at the official Residence of the Prime Minister in Jerusalem, incumbent PM Benjamin Netanyahu will be exempt from the investigation at this time. The announcement added that the suspected misconduct is, in any event, not considered to be of a highly serious nature. In other political news, the leaders of 8 parties vying for votes in the upcoming elections, Bayit Yehudi, Yisrael Beytenu, Koolanu, Yesh Atid, the Joint List, Meretz, Shas, and Yahad, participated in a televised debate Thursday evening without Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leader of the Likud Party, and Zionist Union chairman MK Isaac Herzog.
