Obama Is Embarrassed?

During an interview with Vice News, President Obama said he was “embarrassed” for senators who signed a letter to Iranian leaders informing them that binding agreements with the United States must be ratified by the Senate. Here’s what the president said:

“I’m embarrassed for them. For them to address a letter to the ayatollah who they claim is our mortal enemy, and their basic argument to them is ‘don’t deal with our president cause you can’t trust him to follow through on [an] agreement,’ that’s close to unprecedented.”

Senator Cotton’s letter does not suggest that the Iranians can’t trust the president. If anything, the senators are worried that the Iranians can trust Obama to keep his end of the bargain knowing full well that the Iranians cannot be trusted to keep their end of the deal precisely because they are “our mortal enemy.”

Does Obama not believe Iran is our mortal enemy?

The letter was not addressed to the ayatollah nor was it a secret. It was a public letter to the “Leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” and the American people were just as much the intended audience. That is why the senators made it public.

The only person who has sent secret letters to the ayatollah is Barack Obama. According to the Wall Street Journal, Obama has sent at least four secret letter to the ayatollah.

There is no reason for the senators who signed that letter to be embarrassed. If anyone should be embarrassed it is the president. As Senator Cotton explained, “The only thing unprecedented is an American president negotiating a nuclear deal with the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism without submitting it to Congress.”

Jarrett v. Clinton?

While the media have focused on the Republican reaction to Hillary Clinton’s email server scandal, Edward Klein of the New York Post reports that Republicans may be the least of Hillary’s worries. According to Klein, White House adviser Valerie Jarrett may be responsible for making this scandal public.

Not only did Jarrett leak information about Hillary’s private emails, Klein adds, “at Jarrett’s behest, the State Department was ordered to launch a series of investigations into Hillary’s conduct at Foggy Bottom. . .” Six investigations covering Clinton’s expense account and “possible collusion with the Clinton Foundation” are said to be underway.

Bill Clinton is reportedly furious, saying, “The Obamas are out to get us any way they can.”

What might be behind all this palace intrigue at the White House? Klein writes that the president and Jarrett don’t believe Hillary is “a true-blue liberal.” She’s not left-wing enough, and they would rather see someone else continue Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America.

Ferguson Shooter Arrested

After two police officers were shot outside of the Ferguson police department last week, John Muhammad, the city clerk of Uplands Park, Missouri, claimed the shootings were “a setup.” Muhammad said:

“I think it was a complete set up. I think it was a set up between members of the police fraternity. . . I think they operate just like the KKK. I think they did it to make themselves a victim. . . I think it’s just a publicity stunt no more than that.”

Saturday night St. Louis County police arrested 20-year-old Jeffrey Williams on two counts of first degree assault. Williams admits to firing the shots. Williams is not a KKK member.

He claims he was shooting at someone else in the crowd with whom he had a dispute, that the officers were not his intended targets. “We’re not sure we buy that part of it,” said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch.

Whatever motivated Williams, I am glad he is off the streets and behind bars. Meanwhile, Mr. Muhammad may be out of a job because of his ludicrous comment. He has been suspended, and the city board is scheduled to decide today whether to fire him.

Four Blood Moons

Three times in the past five hundred years four blood moons have appeared in the sky on major Jewish holidays. Each appearance of these four blood moons heralded something extraordinary for the Jewish people.
