Britain and Germany Offer Tepid Support For Israeli Election Results, Hate Mail Sent to Israeli Embassy in Berlin

Reactions to this week’s elections in Israel continued to pour in Thursday, with UK Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted his congratulations to Netanyahu, adding “As one of Israel’s firmest friends, the UK looks forward to working with the new government.” A Foreign Office source later told the Jerusalem Post that London will continue to press Israel to negotiate with the Palestinian Authority, as several anti-Israel members of the UK Parliament voiced outrage at the choice Israeli voters had made.
