The author is unknown but I bumped into this the other day and it just rings so true I felt the need to share:
A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young lady sees her neighbor hanging the wash on the line to dry outside.
To her young husband, she comments, “That laundry is not very clean; she needs a better laundry soap.”
As her husband looks on, he remains silent. For days, every time her neighbor hangs her wash to dry, the young wife makes the same comments.
A month later, the woman is surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and says: “Look, she has finally learned how to wash her laundry correctly! I wonder who taught her?”
To this, the young husband replies: “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”
What we see when watching other’s depends on the clarity of the window through which we look!
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
