As many of you know our daughter, Stephanie, gave birth to our first grandchild about a month ago now. Lilith Evelyn has grabbed our hearts. Sharon and I just returned yesterday from visiting her and her Mommy and Daddy in Denver.
We are so thankful for this little angel and her Mom and Dad, Steph and Patrick.
As I held her and looked into her eyes for the first time, I wondered, what happens to us as we grow up?
Lilith is as pure as you can be, like all babies.
A lot of us become harden, focused on ourselves and our needs.
My wife Sharon says:
Why is it that we take these pure spirits and teach them to doubt in themselves, to focus on material goods for happiness, to put value on our chosen careers for esteem, to numb our hurts with alcohol and drugs instead of a means to learn and grow strong in spirit, to value outside appearances instead of our inner hearts for acceptance, and to be self-centered, learning to take but rarely to give, never fully learning to give and receive love from one another.
Great Godly words by my wife.
It seems to me that all issues come down to the state of a persons heart…….
Yesterday as I texted Pastor Leonard Navarre about having the heart of Jesus, he sent me these scriptures………..
Deu 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
1Sa 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Psa 119:11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Mat 15:8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
2Ch 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”
Thank you Pastor Leonard!
I beleive that I should bring Lilith and invite others to bring their babies to the State Legislature and ask the ones in favor of abortion to hold them!
One of my favorite verses is Matthew 18:3 it really preaches to the matter of the heart and spirit……..And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
