Nuclear blast (Illustrative)Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the threat from Iran’s renegade nuclear program during his remarks at the Knesset swearing in ceremony in Jerusalem on Tuesday, saying “The biggest threat to our security and our future was and remains Iran’s attempts to arm with nuclear weapons.” As he was speaking, a US spokesperson was issuing a statement in Washington that “enough progress” had been made in the nuclear negotiations in Switzerland to justify continuing past the midnight deadline into Wednesday evening, although the spokesman admitted that “There are several difficult issues still remaining.” Reports from the hotel where negotiations are being held confirm that several thorny issues remain, and the Chinese and Russian Foreign Ministers have already departed, leaving lower level officials in charge of continuing the talks.
