Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave interviews with several major American news networks over the weekend to explain his strong opposition to a recently announced agreement between Iran and the P5+1 powers (US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) which he described as a disaster for Israel and the West. Comparing the current proposed agreement to the agreement which failed to prevent North Korea from going nuclear in the previous decade, Netanyahu called Iran “a militant Islamic power bent on regional domination” he urged world leaders “don’t give the preeminent terrorist state of our time the access to a nuclear program that could help them make nuclear weapons. It’s very bad for all of us.” Other senior Israeli officials added that the Jewish State would do all it could to argue against the most harmful provisions of the deal in the coming months and urged Israel’s friends to do the same.
