Last night in Albuquerque at Journey Fellowship, family and friends packed the Church to celebrate New Mexico Hall-of-Fame Broadcaster Frank Haley’s 75th Birthday. (Pictured at top is Frank and I the night he was inducted into the HOF in 2012, off to the right is Alice. Frank and Alice with family at the B-Day Party last night!) Frank is currently the morning news anchor at KDAZ AM730. We not only celebrated Frank’s birthday but his Godly life, his Godly wife Alice and family and his 55 years in broadcasting. 82 year-old- Richard Glancey from San Antonio, Texas was the master of ceremonies. Mr. Glancey hired Frank as a news anchor back in 1966 at KLIF in Dallas, Texas! It was very touching to hear all the stories Mr. Glancey shared with us on his love for Frank and Alice. Frank and Alice Haley have made a huge Godly imprint on so many people over the years including me and my wife Sharon. I was so very blessed to hire Frank when I managed KKIM radio in Albuquerque and also getting to see him inducted into the Hall-of-Fame while he served at KKIM. Frank is just one of two New Mexico Broadcaster in the Hall-of-Fame, the other being the late, Blackie Gonzalez, founder of Son Broadcasting. Frank also writes for us here at FGGAM, with his “Today in History” column. Pictured here from left to right are two New Mexico Radio Hall-of-Famers, Bobby Box of “Big Oldies” in Albuquerque and Frank, Frank showing off his autographed picture of the Lone Ranger! Birga Alden of Calvary Radio was one of many broadcasters on hand to pay tribute to Frank along with Jerry Hardin of KNAW radio, and Dan Rosecrans of KDAZ AM730, Frank’s partner in the morning, that is Dan’s lovely wife Laura who writes for us here at FGGAM! Not pictured is David Bernard who worked with Frank at 770 KOB, David is currently the Production Director at Cumulus Broadcasting the owner of 770. We thank the Lord for the life of Frank and Alice Haley and the example they have set us all! We Love you both so very much and your whole family! This is just one of the verses that I think of when I think of Frank and Alice….Philippians 3:17,,,,Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.
