Mass graves uncovered in areas taken from Islamic State, Let us be in constant prayer over this horrific evil!
A series of suspected mass graves have been uncovered near the northern Iraqi city of Tikrit, containing the remains of an estimated 1,700 Shi’ite soldiers of the national army who were captured and executed by the Islamic State (IS) terror militia when it overran the area last summer. IS was recently pushed out of Tikrit by forces including reconstructed units of the national army and police forces allied with Iranian-sponsored Shi’ite militias, backed by airstrikes from a US-led coalition. The discovery of more mass graves is expected in light of the videos posted by IS in recent months of their gunmen machine gunning hundreds of Shi’ite prisoners including captured soldiers of the national army and civilians from various minority groups.Click here to listen to commentary on what can be done about IS
