Do Christian Black Lives Matter?
The slogan “Black lives matter” has been used as a rallying cry in protests across the country over black men killed in altercations with police. The media have dutifully broadcasted the slogan to the point where some people seem to believe that every black American is in danger of getting killed by a racist police officer.
The media have been mostly silent, however, about the loss of life among black Christians at the hands of Muslim terrorists in Nigeria.
In recent days, Boko Haram-which, translates roughly to “Western education is sinful”-has committed a series of attacks in which Christians have been the prime targets. At a bus station recently, 31 mostly Christians were killed or injured when a young girl Boko Haram had forced to become a suicide bomber detonated explosives hidden under her clothes.
Last week, 10 members of the Church of the Brethren were hacked to death by machete-wielding Islamists in Northern Nigeria. Other attacks on Christians include a May 19th shooting that killed another 10 Christians.
Until recently, it had appeared that the Nigerian government was making some progress in fighting Boko Haram and was regaining some of the territory it lost to the Islamists over the last several years. In April, government soldiers rescued some 300 women and girls from the clutches of Boko Haram.
But the lack of reporting on this crisis reveals how much “black lives matter” to the media. We’ve reached a point where many journalists are too busy bashing Israel and lecturing us about our supposed “Islamaphobia” to take the time to pay attention to the growing body count of Christians all over the world at hands of radical Islam.
Meanwhile, of course, Boko Haram and other radical Muslim groups will continue to wage war on Christians, Jews and all of Western civilization.
Has Iran Been Meeting With North Korea Over Nukes?
According to a report by an exiled Iranian opposition group, a delegation of North Korean nuclear experts visited a military site near Tehran last month. The group-the National Council of Resistance of Iran-says it is the third time this year that North Koreans have visited Iran to talk about its nuclear program.
This is just the latest sign of possible increasing cooperation between the two outlaw countries. For years the two countries have been linked over the development of ballistic missiles. But this is the first report of cooperation on the nuclear front.
The Obama administration continues to push for a nuclear deal with Iran, and it goes out of its way not to do or say anything that might offend Iranian sensibilities. Meanwhile, as its reported dealings with North Korea show, the Iranians have not altered their conduct at all.
Virtually the entire world has isolated North Korea, which is a country locked in collective insanity. But not Iran. The fact that North Korean delegations would be invited to Iran tells us everything we need to know about the Iranian regime and whether it can be trusted.
In related news, Iran has deployed some 5,000 troops from its elite Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force to Yemen to help pro-Iranian Houthi rebels trying to seize the southern part of the country. Iran also dispatched Lebanese Hezbollah fighters to help the insurgency in Yemen.
According to reports, the ultimate goal of the Iranians is to control the Bab-el-Mandeb, a strategic chokepoint on the Red Sea that Iran could use to block oil shipments as well as U.S. warship movements.
This is the behavior Iran is engaging in when we think they don’t yet have nukes. When the mullahs get nuclear weapons, which the treaty will guarantee will happen, there is no reason to believe that their behavior will be less provocative or aggressive.
This is why everyone who wishes to defend Western Civilization-Republicans, Democrats, independents and all people of goodwill-must do everything they can in the months ahead to stop a really bad nuclear treaty from being implemented.
