Against the backdrop of an escalating feud in the Gaza Strip between the Islamist terror militia Hamas and the Islamist terror militia Islamic State (IS) a Hamas official blustered on Wednesday that his organization had 100,000 troops ready to “liberate Palestine” and, presumably, stave off the Salafi-jihadist challenge as well. Israel is watching the developments with interested concern, mulling if an IS takeover of the Strip could possibly be worse than the current Hamas administration there. In related news, a team of French legal experts have reportedly concluded their investigation into the 2004 death of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. The investigations conclusions have not yet been published but it has been leaked that they largely rule out the conspiracy theories about Israel working together with senior associates of Arafat’s to assassinate him.
