Two Spanish-language media outlets operating in Latin-America, including one sponsored by the Iranian government, broadcast a story over the weekend accusing Israel of using its humanitarian aid operation in quake-hit Nepal over the last month as a cover for child-trafficking. Iranian HispanTV and Venezuela’sTelesur networks broadcast the reports, which included a mix of accurate information broadly available with a “report” by an unnamed NGO which alleges that “Israel uses humanitarian help as a cover for trafficking of 25 babies in Nepal.” Similar reports by HispanTV four years ago included accusations that Israel was using its field hospitals in quake-struck Haiti to harvest bodily organs and sell them on the international black market.
