Israeli Police Arrest Dozens of Organized Crime Figures

Israeli police rounded up dozens of known organized crime figures on Monday in one of the largest operations of its kind in the history of the modern State. Leaders of some of Israel’s largest organized crime families were among those arrested, including some whose alleged crimes included attempts to murder other people who were arrested as part of the same operation. The murder of innocent bystanders was also included in the list of crimes suspects are accused of as well as drug trafficking, extortion, assault and a variety of other offenses.
