Obama Says He Looks Forward to Working With Netanyahu

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Thursday that “The president congratulates the Israeli people, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the new governing coalition on the formation of Israel’s new government. President Obama looks forward to working with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his new government.” The statement was at odds with Netanyahu’s own domestic opposition, with Zionist Union faction head Eitan Cabel tweeting “On Monday, the war to bring down Bibi begins.” Additionally, ZU faction leader Isaac Herzog recently told Channel 2 News recently that Netanyahu should renounce his lawful election victory because “A coalition with 61 MKs is not a government. It will hurt the population and waste billions. It is dangerous.” Yesh Atid faction leader Yair Lapid added criticism of a planned increase in cabinet ministers, saying “This government was born in sin.
