Israel's Knesset (Wikipedia)An apparent coalition government emerged on Wednesday afternoon just hours before a deadline mandated by law, as the Likud Party of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to a demand by the Bayit Yehudi faction to appoint MK Ayelet Shaked to be the new Justice Minister. With the inclusion of the 8 MKs from Bayit Yehudi, added to the 53 already signed up to the coalition from Likud, Kulanu, United Torah Judaism and Shas, Netanyahu has the bare minimum of 61 seats required to form a government, although many analysts expressed worry that such a narrow majority in the 120 seat Knesset means a very unstable and difficult season of governance ahead in the Jewish State. “I suppose that afterward they will try to find a way to extend the coalition, but in Israel there is never a dull moment,” said President Reuven Rivlin.
