Thousands of Christians in Jerusalem for Pentecost

Thousands of Christians flocked to Jerusalem this past weekend for the Empowered 21 Conference at the capital’s Pais Arena, coinciding with the Biblical festival of Shavuot (Pentecost) and commemorating the first Pentecost following the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, described by many theologians as the birth of the Church. “This is a pivotal moment in history for the global Spirit-empowered movement,” said Empowered21 President and Global Co-Chair William M. Wilson. “The Impartation service, which will pass the mantel of the global Spirit-empowered movement on to the next generation, is of particular significance. Our prayer is that this service will be a catalyst, igniting the hearts and minds of young people from around the globe with the fire of God’s love and power.” Meanwhile, Israelis marked the festival by, among other things, sharing their agricultural knowledge with developing countries.Read More
