Why Have a National Day of Prayer?

Why pray for America?

There is something very wonderful when all of God’s people come together in one location, all denominations humbling themselves before our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is sovereign and nothing comes as a surprise to Him. Whether we face fluctuating economics, threats from abroad, unrest at home, or other troubling circumstances, our Heavenly Father is not caught unaware. Through prayer, we are able to tap into HIS wisdom, strength, protection, and peace. HE stands ready to respond to our needs when we humbly ask for divine intervention in our affairs.

Life is to be one big prayer.

The older I get, the closer I get to God. I was mentioning to a Christian Brother, that I wished I was this close to God when I was 25! So, one of my burning passions is to share God with young people and have them not waste time in knowing God intimately.

Let us humble ourselves before God so much that you feel HIS presence, that is how I felt yesterday, so very close to God I could feel HIM, I wept at HIS greatness.

I was very humbled to be part of the National Day of Prayer in Albuquerque. It was one of the most humbling and inspiring prayer meetings, revival I have ever been to. The Godly tone was set by Pastor Bill Ruhl, who God appointed to head up the prayer meeting. As I sat and listened to the different speakers and prayed, I wept……Pastor Bill prayed for “one sound”……..it came about……the words of all were about JESUS! The answer is JESUS! There were prayers put forth for our Federal, State and Local Governments, our Military, Media, Business, Education, Church, Marriage and Family. The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture. There is something very wonderful when all of God’s people meet in one location, all denominations coming together to pray to our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAISE: Thank God for what HE has already accomplished through JESUS!

REPENT: Confess your sins and shortcomings. Repent personally and on behalf of our nation. The Lord is quick to forgive when we come humbly to HIM. Let us strive to be humble people of God.

ASK: Ask God to reveal truth, turn our hearts back toward HIM, and bring healing.

YIELD: Yield to the LORD and recognize that HE has heard our prayers and will answer according to HIS Will. HE is ready to provide guidance and direction.

There is so much POWER in the LORD when we all gather together and humble ourselves before HIM and HIS WAYS! AMEN!

It is not about us, it is all about HIM and HIS WAYS.

There is a stirring in America!

The scripture the Lord gave me for yesterday……John 18:37……

Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
