We all wonder if God hears us when we pray. This morning I saw the following post on my friend, Carol Hatcher’s Facebook page and received permission to share it with you — all the FGGAM readers. May these words bless you as they did me.
God Do You Hear Me? by Carol Hatcher
I am completely undone. Grace just came up to me and said, “Mama, I was afraid I was going to have bad dreams last night so I prayed to God. Before I asked Him to give me good dreams, I said, ‘God, could you please help us sell our house? And could you please help Mary Ann to be all better?’ And then I told Him, ‘And God, would you please let me have good dreams because sometimes I don’t feel like you even hear me. I want to dream about living in Candy Land where you can just eat candy whenever you want, or living in unicorn land where I can just ride a unicorn everyday.'”
Then she said, “Mama, why are you crying?” I told her that it just makes me so happy that she loves God. And Grace said, “That’s because we are supposed to love Him most of all and have no other gods.” She pointed up. “Our God does miracles, Mama.”
I love when God uses our children to preach to us. Our God DOES do miracles.
She said in her prayer, “…sometimes I don’t feel like you even hear me.” I think she touched on something that all of us feel at times. We wonder if God even hears us.
Let me assure you, as I assured Grace, He hears our prayers. And it pleases Him when we bring our hurts, our praises, our hearts to Him.
So, if you are like me this morning and need a little reminder – God hears our prayers, even when we don’t feel like it, and He still does miracles. Believe it. Whatever burden you are carrying today, tell God about it. He loves you so.
I love the Lord because he hears my voice
and my prayer for mercy.
Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath! ~Psalm 116:1-2
