Islamic State Beheads Two Syrian Women and Their Husbands, Assad in Desperate State

Reports emerged Tuesday that the Islamic State (IS) terror militia recently beheaded two women in Syria, along with their husbands, accused of practicing sorcery. In related news, as IS and other groups fighting the Assad regime continue to gain ground in Syria, US officials are beginning to worry that the regime might, in desperation, resort to the use of chemical weapons. Although the regime handed over 1,300 tons of chemical weapons and components in 2013, recent reports from the field indicate that chlorine has been used in several attacks by regime forces and there is concern that other weapons might have been retained by the regime for use in a last-ditch attempt to stave off defeat. Meanwhile, Amos Gilad, director of the Political-Military Affairs Bureau at Israel’s Defense Ministry, told a conference on Monday that in his assessment, “Syria is gone. Syria is dying.
