Israeli Defense Minister Moshe “Bogie” Ya’alon said on Thursday that the Islamist terror militia Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, is responsible for all terror attacks against Israel that emanate from the Strip, including rockets fired by other terror militias. “Even if the shooters last night were jihadist groups rebelling against Hamas by firing at us, we view Hamas as being responsible for everything that occurs in the territory of Gaza,” Ya’alon said in a statement. He made the comments hours after two rockets were fired into Israel from the Strip, resulting in retaliatory strikes by Israeli aircraft against terror infrastructure there. A Salafi Moslem terror militia calling itself the “Omar Brigades” claimed responsibility for the rockets, saying it was in response to Hamas killing an Islamic State supporter earlier this week.
