Netanyahu Greets Several Foreign Officials in Jerusalem

Wednesday was busy for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, packed with meetings with senior officials from Canada, New Zealand and Brazil. At a joint press conference before his meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Robert Nicholson, Netanyahu said “Our friendship, the friendship between Canada and Israel, is a model of the partnership between two democracies, exemplary democracies. Israel values the support, unstinting, unfaltering, of Canada in an international environment that is often marked by cynicism and double talk. Canada, led by Prime Minister Harper, is always stalwart and tells the truth. And we think that this is a refreshing wind in an increasingly hostile environment, hostile to the truth.” At a similar event prior to meeting with visiting New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully Netanyahu reiterated the threat posed by Iran in a statement which was supported on Wednesday by the US Department of Defense.
