Tensions Mount on Israel’s Northern Border

IDF on the northern border (IDF Photograph)The tensions on Israel’s northern border were manifested Monday morning in an attack on IDF ambulances carrying wounded Syrian’s near the Druze village of Hurfeish. The Druze villagers briefly blocked the advance of the ambulance to determine that it was not, as has been widely rumored, being used to treat jihadists which have been attacking Druze inside Syria. The incident occurred a day after an explosion in Lebanon’s Bekka Valley, near the Syrian border, was reported to have been caused by an Israeli airstrike on one of its own drones which crashed in the area while carrying out routine surveillance. The reports in Lebanese media said Israel bombed the wreckage of the drone in order to cover up its activities in Lebanon, while the IDF said it “does not comment on foreign reports.” Read More
