Dempsey in Israel for meetings
US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey was in Israel on Tuesday as a guest of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. General Gadi Eisenkot. Declaring that Israel and the IDF have “no greater friend on the face of the Earth than the United States military,” Dempsey was awarded a badge of appreciation by Eisenkot, who said “I am greatly honored to host your visit to Israel. Your loyalty, friendship, and personal commitment to our security have inspired us. Under your leadership, the cooperation between our militaries has become more powerful.” Dempsey also met with several other Israeli officials during his visit, which followed a quiet visit last week by CIA Director John Brennan.
