The UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) issued a report on Friday including, among other things, a conclusion that Iran is still not cooperating in the investigation of military aspects of its renegade nuclear program. The IAEA is “concerned about the possible existence in Iran of undisclosed nuclear- related activities involving military-related organizations, including activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for missiles,” AP reported, citing the document. “Iran is required to cooperate fully with the agency on all outstanding issues.” In related news, the P5+1 nuclear powers (US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) negotiating with Iran have reportedly agreed to a mechanism to restore sanctions quickly if Iran violates the terms of any future agreement. “We pretty much have a solid agreement between the six on the snapback mechanism, Russians and Chinese included,” a Western official said. “But now the Iranians need to agree.” Read More
