For God’s Glory Alone ministry would like to welcome our newest contributor, Lori Hatcher. Plucked from the rocky shores of Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island and transplanted into the sandy Midlands of South Carolina, Lori loves nothing more than taking about God’s goodness to whoever will listen. She’s especially passionate about helping busy women connect with God in the craziness of everyday life. This desire sparked both her book, Hungry for God … Starving for Time, Five-Minute Devotions for Busy Women, and her blog of the same name.
A busy woman herself, Lori is the editor of Reach Out, Columbia magazine, a Christian magazine dedicated to telling the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things with God’s help. She’s a pastor’s wife and the mother of two amazing daughters whom she homeschooled since birth. Her practically perfect granddaughter always makes her smile, and she thinks her sons-in-law are pretty cool, too.
Lori’s hunger for God began when she became a Christian the summer before her freshman year in college. She was eager to learn about God, but didn’t know how to go about it.
She remembers buying an old Billy Graham discipleship book at a thrift store. Every morning during breakfast she’d read a short section, look up a few Bible verses, and write her answers in the blanks. She’s sure she got many answers wrong, but her fledgling attempt helped her learn about God. Thirty-three years later, she still reads her Bible every morning.
