Israelis were cheered on Tuesday by news that an expansion of the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA) had been finalized, which is expected to make a dramatic contribution to economic growth in both countries. “Israel is a priority market for Canada…an expanded and modernized free trade agreement will lead to a strengthened bilateral relationship as well as an increase in jobs and opportunities for Canadians and Israelis alike,” Canadian Prime Minister Stephan Harper said.
